Accessibility Statement

Last updated: April 26, 2026

Design Glyphe LLC is committed to making enterforja.com accessible to all users, targeting WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance. This statement explains our current status, known limitations, and how to get in touch if you encounter an accessibility barrier.

Legal notices, privacy rights requests, formal complaints, and questions for the legal team should be sent to legal@contact.enterforja.com.

1. Our commitment

Design Glyphe LLC is committed to making enterforja.com accessible to all users, including people with disabilities. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. Accessibility is not a compliance checkbox for us. It is part of our commitment to building with integrity. The Design, Build and Release framework that underpins Forja applies to how we build our own digital products.

2. Current conformance status

This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partially conformant means that some content does not fully meet the standard. We are actively working to identify and resolve gaps.

Measures we have taken to improve accessibility include:

  • Semantic HTML structure with correct heading hierarchy throughout all pages
  • Keyboard navigation support across all interactive elements, including forms, accordions, and navigation menus
  • ARIA labels and landmarks for assistive technology compatibility
  • Sufficient colour contrast ratios between text and background across all section types
  • Descriptive alt text on all meaningful images and illustrations
  • Focus indicators on all focusable elements
  • No motion that cannot be disabled via the prefers-reduced-motion media query

The following WCAG 2.1 Level AA success criteria have been specifically addressed:

  • 1.1.1 Non-text Content. All meaningful images have descriptive alt text. Decorative images are marked as presentational.
  • 1.3.1 Info and Relationships. Semantic HTML elements (headings, lists, tables, landmarks) convey structure programmatically.
  • 1.4.3 Contrast (Minimum). Text and interactive elements meet the minimum 4.5:1 contrast ratio (3:1 for large text).
  • 2.1.1 Keyboard. All functionality is operable via keyboard without requiring specific timings.
  • 2.4.7 Focus Visible. All focusable elements have a visible focus indicator.
  • 2.5.3 Label in Name. Interactive elements have accessible names that match or include their visible labels.
  • 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value. Custom components built with Radix UI primitives expose correct roles, states, and properties to assistive technology.

3. Testing methodology

We use a combination of manual and automated testing methods to evaluate accessibility:

  • Manual keyboard testing. All pages and interactive elements are tested for full keyboard operability, including tab order, focus management, and keyboard shortcuts.
  • Screen reader testing. Pages are tested with NVDA on Windows and VoiceOver on macOS and iOS to verify that content is announced correctly, landmarks are navigable, and interactive elements are operable.
  • Automated testing. We use axe-core and Lighthouse accessibility audits during development to catch common issues such as missing alt text, insufficient contrast, and missing form labels.
  • Browser matrix. Testing is conducted across Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge on both desktop and mobile.

Accessibility testing is performed during the development of each new page and component, not only as a post-launch audit. We aim to integrate accessibility into the design and build process from the start.

4. Known limitations

We are aware of the following limitations and are working to address them:

  • Some third-party components may not fully conform to WCAG 2.1 AA in all browser and assistive technology combinations. We are auditing these as part of ongoing development.
  • Video and audio content, if and when added to the site, will include captions and transcripts. No video or audio is currently present on this site.
  • PDFs linked from this site, where applicable, may not be fully accessible. We will replace these with accessible web-based alternatives where possible.

5. Accessibility roadmap

We are committed to continuous improvement. The following accessibility enhancements are planned:

  • Implement an accessible cookie consent banner with full keyboard and screen reader support
  • Audit all third-party components (Convex Auth authentication flows, form libraries) for WCAG 2.1 AA conformance
  • Provide accessible web-based alternatives for any PDF documents currently linked from the site
  • Add captions and transcripts to all video and audio content when media is introduced
  • Conduct a comprehensive third-party accessibility audit before registration opens

Our target is full WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance by the time competition registration opens on September 30, 2026.

6. Technical specifications

This website relies on the following technologies for conformance with WCAG 2.1:

  • HTML5 with semantic landmark elements
  • CSS with responsive design and prefers-reduced-motion support
  • JavaScript and React for interactive components, built with accessibility-first Radix UI primitives

We test using keyboard navigation, screen readers including NVDA and VoiceOver, and automated accessibility testing tools during development.

7. Competition accessibility

Our commitment to accessibility extends beyond the website to the competition itself:

  • Application process. Application forms are designed to be fully accessible via keyboard and screen reader. If you encounter barriers during the application process, contact us and we will provide alternative submission methods.
  • Stage One (virtual). Virtual competition tools and platforms will be selected with accessibility as a criterion. We will work to ensure that submission systems, communication channels, and evaluation interfaces are accessible.
  • Stage Two (physical). The Stage Two venue will be evaluated for physical accessibility. We will make reasonable accommodations for participants with disabilities, including accessible facilities, seating, and communication support.
  • Reasonable accommodations. Participants who require accessibility accommodations at any stage of the competition may request them by contacting us. Requests will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis, and we will make every reasonable effort to provide appropriate support.

8. Feedback and contact

If you encounter accessibility barriers on this website, or if you need content provided in an alternative format, please contact us. We take all accessibility feedback seriously and will respond within 10 business days.

Contact us at support@contact.enterforja.com, specifying the nature of the accessibility issue and the page or feature it relates to. For formal accessibility complaints, use legal@contact.enterforja.com. We will acknowledge receipt and aim to resolve or explain any identified barriers promptly.

9. Enforcement

If you are not satisfied with our response to an accessibility complaint, you may contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) in the UK. The Equality Act 2010 requires that websites are accessible to people with disabilities. The EASS can provide further guidance on your rights and how to escalate a complaint.
